Despite what a bogus valuation (104K JPG file, file uploaded 1/24/98) might claim about CS&C bonds, the bonds have no value other than as collectible memorabilia, since CSX has disclaimed any liability for redemption of these bonds, and they are most certainly not payable in gold. A museum in Grand Rapids, Michigan, packaged the bonds with other historical information about this railroad for sale as collector's items for $29.95 each. After the bankruptcy proceeding, the bonds remained in court archives until they were discovered in the basement of a federal building. At that time, investors presented their bonds for payment out of funds from the foreclosure sale and received a distribution amounting to less than 25 cents on the dollar. All claims to money due under the bonds, which had a face value of $1,000 each, were resolved 112 years ago in the 1876 bankruptcy proceeding. CSXs predecessor did not assume any of CS&Cs outstanding debt, including the railroad bonds. In several cases, the third parties issuing the valuations appear to be working in conjunction with the scam artists. As stated above, there are no such trading programs. Scam artists using such valuations may also make the false assertion that while perhaps not payable today in gold or in money, the bonds are used in high-yield trading programs in the United States, offshore and in Europe. Lie: Historical bond trading programs yield high rates of return through the buying and selling of "debenture" or "medium term notes" supposedly issued by "prime" or "top" European or "World" banks.įact: Officials of leading European banks, including Barclays Bank, have denied any participation in such programs and there is no evidence that the market for such instruments exists as described by scam artists. The scam artist's use of humanitarian or infrastructure development theme is a trick to (1) make the investor want to believe that the trading programs are real and (2) make the investor believe that they could be helping a Third World country by forking over their money. Lie: Funds in, or some proceeds from, these high-yield trading programs go to humanitarian purposes or infrastructure development projects that are approved by the United Nations, the World Bank, or the Treasury Department.įact: There are no such "trading programs" or "high-yield investment programs." For example, the IMF has issued a warning about financial schemes misusing its name. ![]() Lie: Historical bonds can be used in high-yield investment "trading program" sanctioned by any, some, or all the following entities: the International Chamber of Commerce ("ICC"), the IMF, the World Bank, the United Nations, the Federal Reserve Board, a Federal Reserve Bank, and the Treasury Department.įact: There are no such "trading programs," and none of these entities ever sanctions or regulates such private investment activity. As these historical bonds were neither issued nor backed by us or any other part of the United States Government, it would be patently absurd to suggest that we would establish a sinking fund to retire these historical bonds. ![]()

So how has your engineering experience helped you prepare for, for doing all that, to going all around the different sites and, you know, having your signature on there that says, yeah, this is, this looks pretty good from my perspective, because I’m an engineer? Host: And yeah, and you get to see it all. So, there’s some really cool things going on, on center. Since I’m actually able to go on center and see each thing in person, I’m able to see the different projects that the different divisions and matrixes are all taking part in and I think it’s a really amazing thing. But the really cool thing about this position is that it’s unique in the fact that it allows me to see projects from all across the space center, particularly during the walkdowns and condition assessments. The other half would be conducting condition assessments on the center, and by that, I mean I go onto center and pretty much just look over the mechanical equipment, make sure everything is functioning appropriately, you know? Besides that, I also evaluate the associated documentation for each project, such as like cost estimates, comments, RFIs (request for information) things along those lines. ![]() A big chunk of the work I do really consists of reviewing design documents, specifications, things like that, for the equipment. The front ‘beak’ of the shelter has a mesh inner which is nice for stargazing on clear nights. Granted, I’ve only used the tent during fall, winter, and early spring, so maybe it gets worse during the summer months. While I’ve read some forums where users have complained of the issue, it hasn’t been too much of a problem for me. NOTE: The version I tested is the 2016 version and since publication, a new version has launched with 10D PeU Nylon Ripstop shell and 15D PeU floor fabric.īecause the Gogo Elite’s interior space is so compact, I expected it to be a den of condensation. The 20D nylon floor is rather thin and I’ve noticed that it does get a little damp when used without a ground sheet. It is hard to discern whether the single wall shell ups the r-value, but it’s safe to say that this is a 3-season tent. I’ve used it in temps down to 7☏, which is far colder than I’d like to be out sleeping on the forest floor. Considering that this is a single-walled shelter, it seems about right for the weight to strength ratio. The Nemo Gogo Elite’s shell is constructed from a 10 denier “OSMO Elite” waterproof/breathable shell and the beak shell from 10 denier polyurethane-coated ripstop nylon. For folks planning on camping in really windy conditions, I have read that the Elite can be modified by adding two grommets on the floor’s sides to stake it wider for even more stability. Other than that, the Nemo Gogo Elite is well constructed, sets up taught, and seems like it will stand up well in rough and gusty conditions. Two of them bent the first time I pitched the shelter. I will say that, for the price, Nemo should have included better stakes. As shown in these photos, I tried setting it up using both methods it works well either way. The swallowtail can also be held up by tying it off to a tree branch…. The stick is held in its vertical position with a tension cord that connects to the rear peak. The foot of the Gogo, or “the swallowtail” as Nemo describes it, sets up with any 16-18″ stick. One for each corner and two for the endpoints. In addition to the built in air beam, the Gogo Elite relies on six stakes to give it its shape. The plastic and metal clip valve is a little tricky, and perhaps a bit overbuilt, but after a few uses the Gogo Elite sets up really quickly, leading me to believe that it would be a good option for long distance races as well. Nemo doesn’t specify the PSI of the arch, but it gets surprisingly rigid. Nemo’s ‘Air Supported Technology’ works via a small squeeze pump which affixes to the beam’s plastic valve at the base of the tent. To my surprise, the ~2.5″ diameter arch is made from a reinforced and almost plasticized fabric that holds air at fairly high pressure. I expected a flimsy tube made out of material similar to that of a sleeping pad. I was a little leery of an inflatable structural support before I used it. Once pitched it resembles a very small tent, although it’s kind of a bivy too. To keep its shape, the Gogo Elite makes use of an air-filled arc and six stakes. Luckily, the Decepticons had their own mission going on the Nemesis. Eventually, Sideswipe feigned the Ark's departure from the planet, only to target and disable the ring weapon as he passed it, then make a sharp turn and head straight back down to the Quintesson city, Hydratron, to rescue his friends. With Optimus and the senior officers imprisoned on the planet below, Sideswipe assumed command and coordinated the repair efforts on the ship as well as discussions of a rescue mission. Concealed weaponry in the planet's artificial rings rendered both the Ark and the Nemesis inert. He orchestrated a semi-successful counter-strike with the Aerialbots, but their dogfighting ended when the Aquatronians revealed themselves to be vassals of the Quintessons. During the excursion, however, the Nemesis caught up with the Ark, prompting some daredevil flying on Sideswipe's part. As pilot, Sideswipe remained on-board the Ark as Optimus Prime led most of his senior staff down to the planet as part of a delegation meeting with Aquatron's Curator. Sideswipe and Perceptor frequently got on each other's nerves, as remnants of Cybertron's old caste system still lingered in the Autobots' ranks. Sideswipe continued to pilot the Ark when the Autobots made contact with the planet Aquatron. Following the battle, Sideswipe again piloted the ship in search of the AllSpark. After Junkion broke apart, Optimus had Sideswipe fly the Ark to the largest piece in order to act as bait for Megatron. ![]() Sideswipe himself was subsequently part of the ship's crew as it passed through the space bridge, and took them to the tomb of Solus Prime. As it became increasingly clear that things on Junkion weren't all that they seemed, Sideswipe and Silverbolt got a wrecked ship working for Optimus, who intended to traverse a nearby space bridge. They next headed to Junkion, where Sideswipe found the native Junkion were difficult to work with during the ongoing repairs, and reported that the ship's fuel reservoir was damaged beyond repair. Following the subsequent sabotage and crash of the Ark, Sideswipe oversaw attempts to repair the ship. After they arrived at Velocitron, he was assigned to Prowl's landing team, and carried out an inspection of the Ark with Ironhide before they went down to the planet, landing just as the Speedia was about to start. Sideswipe was the Ark's pilot when it left Cybertron. He continued to accompany Optimus in sabotaging Trypticon and was appointed the Ark's pilot, ensuring it journeyed through the last space bridge, to a spiral galaxy-where the AllSpark was detected nearby. Though he understood why Optimus was doing it, it still felt to Sideswipe like they were quitting the war. When Optimus returned from Cybertron's core with the Matrix of Leadership, he began Project Generation One, a plan to leave Cybertron as it purged itself of Megatron's poison. Afterwards he aided in extracting Optimus when he rescued Sentinel Prime from Kaon, and guarded over Jazz and Prowl as they recovered from that adventure. He concurred with Jazz that fighting Darkened Decepticons was better than fleeing, and he did so when Megatron invaded Teletraan-1 and took the Plasma Energy Chamber. Optimus did not consider Sideswipe one of his closest comrades but he was often present at their meetings. Sideswipe boasted that he tore off Bruticus' head, a claim Alpha Trion considered hyperbole. Sideswipe made his name at the Autobot victory of Kalis, bringing down Bruticus Maximus with Optimus Prime and Jazz. He eventually joined the Autobots to try and redeem himself.
